Experience
- Dr Cowley is currently a General Paediatric Consultant at the Women and Children's centre in Telford (SATH NHS Trust) and has been a consultant for the last 13 years.
- He was the Clinical Director for Paediatrics at the Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Trust from December 2013 until July 2017.
- His private practice started at the Nuffield Health in Shrewsbury in April 2011 and continued until October 2015 when he changed his private rooms to practice at the Apley Clinic in Telford (for children 4 weeks of age, up until 18 years). In September 2017, all clinics were moved to Shrewsbury at Summerfield healthcare so that all ages could be seen.
- Previous Training:- He became a member of the Royal College of Paediatrics in 2001 and then joined the West Midlands Training programme and completed all of his core paediatric training locally in Shrewsbury, followed by general paediatric and oncology placements at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire and Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
- Currently he specialises in all aspects of general paediatrics and looks after children with a variety of general paediatric problems, including respiratory, gastroenterology, allergy , neurology and cardiology complaints having attended courses in these areas.
- He is the lead for Paediatric Oncology for SATH NHS trust and looks after children with leukaemia and cancer with particular expertise in ruling out malignancy.
- His other special interest is Haematology and he manages other general aspects of haematatology such as anaemia, recurrent infections and unexplained or easy bruising.
